If
you have a
blog, you can submit it to various blog directories. Like all other directories, some pass value, while others are crap. Writing
is hard enough
when you have to write 500 word blog posts. Now imagine writing in-depth articles and guides that stretch to 5,000+ words on a consistent basis. Keywords
are still an
important part of SEO, but relevance can often be figured in more abstract ways. Long
tail keywords are
essentially longer more specific keywords that tie in directly to your content. For example, if you are selling woman’s shoes on your eCommerce website. The main keywords would likely be: “ladies shoes”, “woman’s shoes”, “girls shoes” and other similar words. Whether
it's your friends,
relatives, employees, colleagues, business partners, clients, or anyone else, ask them for a link. Someone you know has a website or blog, so take advantage

Ensure each page has a unique target keyword
Local
SEO is, inarguably,
the best bet for local businesses to grow big. Back
Links go hand
in hand with Link Building and act as advertisements for your website on other websites, rather than the links on your own website, which give more traffic to other websites. Research
other business websites
and encourage them to link to your site. Joint ventures are a good way to exchange links and benefit each other’s business as well.
You can read an offsite SEO beginners guide here. Search

average position for each of the keywords you rank for and how many impressions and clicks this brings you. It’s
a new era
for SEO, an era where you can no longer keyword-stuff your way
to search ranking success. Nowadays, if Google finds out that you are blatantly
overusing (or hiding) keywords on your site, your credibility (and rankings) could
take a serious hit. However, this doesn’t mean that keywords are totally irrelevant.
In fact, if you’re doing what Google wants you to do (creating high-quality content),
keywords will work there way naturally into your website’s pages.
SEO tactics that work
Gaz Hall, a
Freelance SEO Consultant from
SEO Hull, commented: "As
we all know,
Google change their algorithm 500+ times a year, and these are the small tweaks to make user experience and results better, and these are largely unconfirmed. Then come the larger, more drastic algorithmic changes that sometimes cause a stir in the SEO industry, mainly due client sites being negatively impacted." One
of the best
ways to captivate and ensure visitors come to your new site is to make sure it’s fully loaded with engaging content right out of the box. Links
from a diverse
range of websites is good, many links from a single domain to your site (especially if it’s one of the very sites linking to you) can be seen as spammy. Search
engine do not
give you links that are counted to your link popularity. You need to write content that others want to link to. And in my opinion, if you are not passionate about what you are writing, then it will be hard to get links pointing to your content. Web
pages must contain
a minimum number of words, feature targeted keywords and highlight local modifiers to ensure they appear prominently in relevant, organic search results.
Create an interactive tool for good SEO
Don't
deceive your users
or present different content to search engines than you display to users, a practice commonly referred to as cloaking. The
goal of search
engine optimization is to have the search engine spiders not only find your site and pages but also specifically rank the page relevance so that it appears at the top of the search engine results. Measuring
how many visits
your site gets, and analyzing the sources sending the most traffic, means you can see which content marketing and SEO strategies are getting you the best results. You
need a clear
strategy on your most profitable keywords. You also need to determine whether you need a strong focus on your local market or if you should be targeting keywords nationally. Linking
out to well-respected
authority sites will not only increase the relevancy of your content and time readers spend on your site, but it is also believed to send trust signals to Google and improve SEO ranking.
Google recommends customer focused content
If
you are currently
producing five articles a week that get less than 100 visits each, try creating a single keyword-targeted article each week, with more research and more value to your audience, and then actively promote this article to key influencers in your industry. Avoid
unwieldy phrases and
unnecessarily long descriptions, instead trying to say as much as possible with the smallest word count necessary. When
people conduct research,
they want up-to-date, accurate information. That’s why it’s important to keep content updated. Recency is becoming an increasingly important ranking factor in Google’s search algorithm and for good reason—your audiences don’t want to waste time reading dated content. I
would pursue the
more relevant linking opportunity because the domain still likely has some authority and by having relevancy, you increase the chance of driving targeted traffic to your site. Stop
using keywords in
your titles. Why? Because if you don’t know how to optimize a Web page without stuffing your title, then you don’t know how to optimize a Web page. Titles and URLs are options, not requirements, in search engine optimization. Learn to understand and fully appreciate the difference between being able to do something and needing to do something.
