Start simple, but don’t skip this step

Backlinks are the foundation of Google's algorithm for determining a site’s page rank. But it will probably not get you that number one spot in Google, and that’s fine. Manage your expectations. Focus on keywords that have higher search volume but don’t neglect long tail keywords. When working on your content, you should take the next biggest thing into account: voice search. Yes, it’s been around for a while. But with the advent of Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s nameless Home assistant, things are moving fast right now. Optimize from tail to head

Focus on your customers, and take the right logistical steps to make sure that search engines can find your content. Focus on the ‘road less traveled’ with long-tail opportunities, and you’ll be set. The days of stuffing keywords into bad content and having it rank are long gone. Now your content needs to focus on your target persona and your keywords need to flow within the content. Pay close attention to how your results develop over time, and don’t be afraid to make changes when you need to.
