Create strong content for each page that has keyword focus

Prioritize keywords and phrases, plurals, singulars and misspellings. Google is good at crawling all types of URL structures, even if they're
quite complex, but spending the time to make your URLs as simple as
possible for both users and search engines can help. When content is optimized for SEO before it goes live on the web, it will be prepared for searchers and rank higher on the SERP from the moment of publication. Over the past 10 years, search has gotten a whole lot better. If you’ve been in the industry long enough, you remember the days of keyword stung articles and link building. If it’s been just a day or two since you made your website and are not appearing on the SERPs, then you might consider submitting your URL to Google (If you haven’t already done).
If you still don’t appear on the SERPs, relax! Google takes some time to crawl and index your website.

Create strong content for each page that has keyword focus

Search engines scour the Internet to find keywords and clues to match search results, but if your website isn’t giving them the right clues, your SEO efforts will take a
dive. Ultimately understanding your audience, competition and keyword options will play a major role in your website’s SEO potential. The Internet a crowded and noisy place, so when you search for something online, you’re going to get a barrage of search results. Thousands of them. Hundreds of thousands. No one would click through on each of them. Most web users will click on the first couple results that are listed, and then modify their search if they don’t see what they want. Whether you should go after long tail keywords, which are specific and consist of multiple words, or after head terms largely depends on your competition. When we talk about visibility, we mean how high up the SERP your website appears for certain search terms in the ‘organic’ results. Organic results refer to those that appear naturally on the page, rather than in the paid-for sections. Company blogs have been proven again and again to do wonders for businesses. Among other things, having a company blog will improve your SEO and allows you to become seen as an expert in your field.

Review your links — but don’t stress out

Search engines display page titles in their search results. In addition, search engines use page titles in order to recognize what information the website contains. Your title tag needs to be written for humans – as in it needs to make logical sense, rather than a keyword stuffed mess. The title tag will appear in a variety of places, from SERPs, to a social share, to the browser tab, so make sure it’s relevant and readable. Let’s not forget the speed of your site, not just because we all browse the web a lot more on our mobile devices, over not-so-broadband networks, but also because a fast site makes Google and in most cases your conversion rate happier. Are internal links as valuable as external links? Look at any forums, blogs, message boards or other chat services you might be using. In many of these environments, it is acceptable for users to give contact information and even drop links to their websites, as long as they do it in a certain way. Create great content. Google’s reputation depends on it leading users to high quality sites, so the better and more original your content is, the more Google will like you.

How does web design and development affect marketing?

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant from SEO Hull, commented: "Looking at a website’s backlink profile can tell you a lot about their marketing activities and help you to understand why, where, and how they rank." Google cares the most about editorial links, or links included in article body copy, and they place particular emphasis on in-content links over links in sidebars, footers, or other places on your website. You need to become best friends with Google Search Console. Its search tools are legendary and a big help if you want to find out how your site is doing in the search results. Social signals aren’t an important part of the Google algorithm. But social shares on sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google+ may give you an indirect rankings boost. SEO can be a frustrating activity. Yesterday your website was on the first page of Google. You were delighted. Flushed with your SEO prowess, you performed the same search today and found your site was on page two – what went wrong? Has your website been pawed to pieces by a panda or pecked full of holes by a penguin?

Outbound links

Your users need the structure to navigate through your site, to click from one page to the other. And Google uses the structure of your site in order to determine what content is important and what content is less important. Search engines are very clever in reading every little detail about your web page in order to rank all the sites that they store. It is advisable therefore to get some structure in your website files, rather than having them all loose in one huge folder. Permalinks are the permanent URLs for your web pages, posts, categories and tag archives. It is the web address used to link to your individual blog post and web page. By default, permalinks look something like this: https://yoursite.com/p?=17 This structure makes it difficult for search engine crawlers to read and index your web pages and posts. That means you will need to make it more accessible for both search engines and we visitors. Keyword research can prove to be one of the most high return activities, not only in SEO, but in search marketing as a whole. Selecting the right keywords and strategically placing them in key areas of your pages isn't rocket science, but it does take a little time and dedication. One of the most frequently asked questions by fellow SEO consultants probably is: “What online marketing tools do you use?”

Choose your keywords carefully

Organic traffic is free, which is why it is best if you focus on attaining it for your web page. SEOs constantly work to get new links connecting to their sites that are from sources of high authority. SEO factors have varying weights and no SEO consultant knows the exact weight of each or when these weights change. We’re not going to talk about every SEO factor. This is because Google has over 200 SEO factors and over 10,000 sub-signals for ranking. That is way too much information to digest and remember. Another important factor is the way that the sites link to you, sites that use the rel=nofollow tag to link to you or sites that use a redirect to link to you will not help you, also the search engines look at the text that links to you. Website with streamlined URL structures often tends to rank higher than those with a messy structure and confusing organization of content.
